Course Description

(Health Professionals only or Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology is prerequisite)

Duration: 2 Months (10 online video lectures, 5 days extensive clinic practice followed by portfolio, assignments and live treatment assessments)

This is a practical and knowledge-based qualification with 7 units, will prepare you to work as a laser therapist/practitioner for hair removal and skin rejuvenation. We will cover all types of hair from fine to coarse and hair colours ranging from dark to medium pigment.

The units have been identified by employers as the most appropriate for working as a laser and intense pulsed light practitioner, however, there are many CPD courses that can enhance the skills learnt and provide new techniques to ensure that the qualified practitioner remains current and at the forefront of the industry.

Quality management of Client Care
In the skin unit, we cover the reducing of fine lines, improving the appearance of sun-aged skin, and the smoothing out of pigmentation, colour tone, and texture. We also teach how to treat skin blemishes such as blood spots, thread veins, and age spots.

In the technologies unit, we cover different type of IPL, SHR and LASER machines and teach that how to check and select the good standard machines and equipment and about the basic maintenance and quality standards.

You will learn safe work practices and client health. Since paying clients often share a personal and intimate conversation, we will teach you how to become a good listener and say the right things so as not to offend or upset clients.

This is a very intense level course and includes assignments as well as home study. You will build a portfolio of evidence, perform practicals, and review case studies. You will also need to arrange models for your assessment. 5 days real clinic environment practice also required as part of this course.
